Interior design is a word that often gets misconstrued as someone who picks out paint colors and drapes. Let us paint a more accurate depiction of what this role actually requires when done properly.
The architectural designer is responsible for designing the Architectural and Structural components of a house or building. As the architectural designer we will often draw place setters for cabinets and islands, appliances, bath and kitchen fixtures, hardware, etc however we are not specifically naming the make, model and finish.
After the architectural intent has been illustrated our interior design team will come in and start to spec out each of the fixtures and appliances with finishes that make up your project.
This does a number of things:
- Allows the construction team to put an accurate estimate together for your job
- Allows you to see upfront what these products will all look like
- Prevents delays and change orders on site as a result of you viewing them all together as one piece in the original plans.
